Help, My boyfriend locked me out my computer!

My boyfriend had bought me a Toshiba Satellite 135 laptop for my birthday, and we both used it, and had our own Windows Vista accounts. I believe we were both set as administrators. Anyways, our relationship started going sour, and as revenge, he put a password on the computer when it boots. Well we made up for awhile, and he gave me the password. Then another night after I was asleep he wiped my computer out, and only setup one Windows Vista user acct under his name with a password. Of course his hint, is me. Yet I tried to guess, and he's not playing nice so I haven't been able to get in for 2 months. Any ideas how I can reset this password. I saw a few things earlier, but had trouble still. My computer didn't come with a very good user manual, and there's nothing about my bios anywhere. I played with it a little, but I can't figure this out. Is my computer totally hopeless or is it best to take it somewhere? Please advise.

Oh, and I'm trying not to wipe it completely out as my computer holds hundreds of personal photos that I would like to have. I backed all these up once or twice, but again as revenge he took them too!

He paid for the computer right... Shouldn't he own it???
Any way
Turn on pc and push F8 a billion times until u have an option to start window's normally and safe modes. Select safe mode.
You will find a new account called administrator.
it should be password free so simply click on it to log in.
then go to user accounts and change his password.

That is one of the single most absurd things i believe i have heard this month, SWAT. You are getting into the realm of intellectual property here. Everything in that computer is hers, she put it there, she has every right to it.

Your "opinion" about the law is ill-conceived and incorrect. Do you own your Birthday presents or do the people who gave them to you own them?

mmluna, please ignore SWAT and follow Bare Foot's advice.

You said "as revenge, he put a password on the computer when it boots." Are you talking about a BIOS password, or a normal User Account password?

If it is a normal user account password, then follow Bare Foot Kid's advice. If it is a BIOS password (meaning the computer won't even begin the process of starting up Windows unless you type in the password), then try this page for some advice:

How do I reset a BIOS password?

He did set a password on the Bios so immediately when it boots it ask me for it. He did give me that password awhile back. Then another time after fighting he went in and wiped vista out, and reinstalled. So now he opened a user account for him on visita. So he's the only administrator and only acct, and he will not give me the password. I would like to get both passwords clear. I will certainly try what you suggested, thank you.

My Computer

I tried F8, and went to safe mode. Mine does not give me a administrator account. It gives me my boyfriend Ryans account who is the administrator. That didn't work. I'll try Barefoot's advice. Hopefully that works. Thank you everyone!

Then after you get it sorted, follow Ex_Brit's advice ;)
