Disable auto row-highlight in explorer

Hi,

I've almost got used to Vista now, but one of the things still getting in the way of me working is the auto-highlighting when u hover over folders (in details view).

I need just the folder to highlight when I hover over it. I think this is the old XP behaviour. Is this possible?

Right now the entire row highlights, even when I'm hovering over white space. This makes it very difficult to know when a folder is selected or not, it also makes it difficult to know when you're actually hovering over the folder or not (the right-click context menu only displays if I am, and the click+drag action differs depending on this, so it's important), it makes it difficult to click in white space to deselect, and so on.

Thanks.

Re: Disable auto row-highlight in explorer

Thanks for that link, it looks like what I'm after

I haven't been able to get the script to work for me yet, but I'll try some more later

Edit: Actually looking at it more closely, it seems that isn't quite what I'm after, it still highlights the entire Name column and would leave me confused whether the mouse is 'on' the folder or not when right-clicking or dragging
