Recently my copy and paste functions have stopped working. I've tried both with the mouse and with the keyboard shortcuts. Copy and paste does work with text, but not with files. I downloaded a 3rd party clipboard utility and can copy and paste using it, but the native function in Vista does not work. Also if I'm trying to paste into a folder it will work if I first open the folder and then paste, but if I just click on the folder icon it will not paste, I get the Windows error "ding." Any ideas?
*I've made a discovery! I think it's a permissions problem. I noticed that when opening a system folder in Program Files I could not create a new folder. I manually added my user account and set the permissions to full, and viola, I could create a new folder, copy and paste, everything. Now, why is this happening on the desktop, and how do I fix that?
