media player problems

Hi everyone. My windows media player is acting up. When I insert a music cd it automatically tries to rip it even though I deselected that option. It's also not burning music properly, there are gaps and breaks where none should be. I'm trying to find a similar thread before I post this. No luck, so any comments would be welcome.

Well, sorted the first problem by changing the auto-play settings and I can always use Roxio (came with this pc) or other burner.
