| Newbie | Error accessing system registry While trying to register my own ocx controls using regsvr32 command in Vista ,it responds Error accessing system registry. I've logged as administrator. What could be the solution ? |

| Post No Evil ;) | Re: Error accessing system registry Hello Subasri, Welcome to the Forums, ![]() assume you are going into CMD prompt, Because of the way administrators work in vista make sure you manually elevate to admin mode (right click on CMD.EXE or Shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator") otherwise the OS will treat you as a standard user. You can confirm that you are at the right level as the title bar will show "administrator" |

| Post No Evil ;) | Re: Error accessing system registry Hi subasri, The way vista handles the Admin/Standard User system, (like the SUDO command in Unix/Linux), is new but the requirement for running programs as a standard user has been in Windows OS from NT so there should be instructions, Somewhere in the VB documentation, to achieve this. Not being a VB programmer myself, can't help directly on this but you may want to do some research, if you think this is essential in your application. Of course certain operating calls will always need Admin rights to run. |
