Desktop Shortcut - Unable to delete

I deleted BitTorrent from my system as i no longer needed the program. I was left with the shortcut on my desktop. New to vista i clicked on it and dragged it to my Recycle bin but was unable to...

Verify the Files location and try again.

(and has the two buttons. Try Again. Cancel.)

When i click the shortcut nothing happens.

Any suggestions as what to do? i don't like my desktop to be messy.

I've had the same problem, always delete s/cut first.

I had to re-install to get rid, luckily it was only a little program.

Have you tried refreshing the desktop (F5) or restarting the computer to see if the icon would be gone afterwards. Sometimes it is just a ghost icon and not really there.

Since you have the 32 bit Vista, you can try deleting it with the free program Unlocker if the above does not work for you.
