Can't see the little fill in boxes on forms

Hi this is my first post here! So I thought I'd start with the first thing that annoyed me about my computer, which I have only had for a little over a month.
In the forms like, registering for a forum or group, there are boxes like enter email and confirm email etc. There is a litle shadow around the top of them but the color inside the box is the same as out side, subsequently making it hard for me to see them. It would seem to me that it should be quite easy with Vista to fix this, but I haven't found out how as yet.
It's only a little problem, and certainly not the only one I had since starting, but you have to start somewhere!

Thanks for your intrest Roy I am busily trying to find an example, I did check the sign up page to this site but I am glad to say that inside the boxes had a nice blue shading and are easy to see.
I use Opera mostly, then Firefox, and on odd occassions IE

The appearance of those boxes depends on several things. Some web pages define it themselves (as you can see for this site). If they leave it undefined, it gets decided by the default way of rendering web pages by the particular browser (so it can look different in different browsers).

In some browsers (Firefox and also Opera I think) you can override it with a setting in your User style sheet. In Firefox, that's in
C:\Users\Alan\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\chrome\userChrome.css

but i can't say what the exact css code is for giving those text input boxes a more defined border or a different background color. It would take some research...

Funny thing about computers after starting this thread and then going back to some registration pages that I am sure had this problem none of them seem to have it any more. Maybe there is some Fuzzy Logic ingrained into Vista that Microsoft haven't told us about yet!

It may just be a couple of badly designed web pages you were looking at.
If you have not got the problem now it is a simple case of problem solved.
