Vista x64 Stop 0x0000000A

I have received the Stop 0x0000000A on my recent build. System was stable for ~ 3 weeks. Specs are as follows: Asus P5Q, Q9550, GTX 260 core 216, 8GB 1066MHz Kingston HyperX, 500GB Seagate, 750 Zalman PSU.

First few times I was able to review event logs and check for any application/driver installs that might have caused the problem with no results.

System no longer goes past logon screen before BSOD. Tried a new MB with updated BIOS. Tried different modules in different RAM slots. All with no success. I am unable to get into the system to apply any update patches or configuration changes past the BIOS.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jsf,
Error 0x0000000a is caused by missing system files or broken system registry structures. This is a critical sign of an unstable system that is typically caused by improper maintenance of the computer.

System Error Codes (0-499) (Windows) -- 0x0000000A Error code, it says "The environment is incorrect."

You might try to use RegCure. RegCure is a Microsoft Windows tool designed to repair code 0x0000000a problems & errors

I know it isn't improper maintenance. New build, minimum programs, all x64 certified drivers. check disk and defragments run. No OC.

I will take a look at RegCure and see what happens if I can get windows to load. Is there a way to initialize windows installer under safe mode?

Bump: Going to attempt a reinstall. I have Vista X64 with SP1 which includes the fix for installing on a system with more than 3GB RAM. Any other patches or install steps to attempt to eliminate this problem. I am starting school again and don't have time to do another reinstall later. debating about going back to x86.
