How do I create a right-click option for Empty Recycle Bin?

I've read a few topics that talk about editing the Recycle Bin right-click menu, but I don't care about that. What I want to do is to be able to right-click anywhere...in any folder, on the desktop, etc. and have the option of emptying my recycle bin.

I had a registry tweak in XP and I tried it in Vista just to see if it would work, but no good.

Anyone have a solution? I know it can be done via a registry setting but I'm not too familiar with Vista's system registry locations yet.

Re: How do I create a right-click option for Empty Recycle Bin?

Hello Pclove,

The CLSID key {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} is for the Empty Recycle Bin context menu item.

These REG downloads will add/remove Empty Recycle Bin to most of the context menus in Vista. Just right click on the REG file and click on Merge, then approve.

To Add:
Add_Empty_Recycle_Bin.reg

To Remove:
Remove_Empty_Recycle_Bin.reg

Content:

Code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]

Hope this helps,
Shawn

LOL, I didn't know if that particular menu item would work in all the other context menus either until I just tested it.
