Vista - Replacement Vista DVD

I need to order a replacement dvd for my vista ultimate coz its scratched badly. I know how to contact microsoft but im uncertain of a few things

I want it to have sp1 already on the disc so i dont have to spend ages installing it everytime i want to reinstall. Do vista dvd's come with sp1 already integrated on them nowdays?

Also, do i need to ask for ultimate retail version, or are all discs the same? I ask coz my version of ultimate asks me to chose which version to install if i dont input the product key.

As far as I know, all disks released now include SP1. And if you already have ultimate, you should be able to get the same version.

All the install dvd's contain all editions, basic, premium, business, ultimate.

It is the product key you enter that determines the edition which is installed on your hd.

You need to get the right bit version, though. If you buy the packaged retail Ultimate, you get a 32bit dvd and a 64 bit dvd.

If you order replacement media, there is a $10 nominal charge, including shipping I believe. Not sure if you would get both dvd's for the $10 with Ultimate, or if it's per dvd. I presume you only need the 64bit dvd.

When you order the replacement media, you need to enter your product key - so they know what edition you have.

As far as I know, they all include SP1 nowadays - it will probably tell you on the order page.

When you get your new dvd, suggest you make a copy , just in case it gets damaged or lost - it's very easy to do

i phoned this afternoon since the website isnt working for me at least. I was told id get both 32 & 64 bit versions & specifically asked that i get dvd's with sp1 already on them. Been given an order number, & waiting for confirmation email once its shipped.

Problem i have at the moment is knowing the progress of the order since i placed it over the phone, i dont know if there is anywhere i can check it so i know all the details are correct.

I think when you get the email, they will include all the details and a website address to check it's progress.

If not, there is a support site at the bottom of the link in my previous post you can try as you have the order number.
