Hey guys - I'm apparently having problems shutting down windows. Windows seems to shut down properly, it stays with the "shutting down" screen / cursor thinking for about 30s then the computer turns off. It's a Vista x64 Home Premium build; the OS has been on there for a few months since I last reinstalled and I'm not having any obvious problems at all save this one. I keep my anti-virus (avast home) and windows updates constantly updated. I've tried cleaning the reg using CC Cleaner.
Here's the problem as windows reports it on start-up:
Now I ignored the warning a few times because I've been too busy to do anything about it. Unfortunatley yesterday windows started BSODing just as the loading bar came on (it restarted after the BSOD). This occurred regardless of the start-up mode (safe mode, etc.). I therefore used my os install DVD to repair the os and happily I could boot into windows again. Unfortunately I still seem to have the same problem.
Prior to the os repair I saved the text of the error messages which was the same as the current one save that the additional information section read thus:
