Searching Issue

I just learned about the snipping tool. The only way I can open it is to go through help & tools and search snipping tool. This is really no longer true because after I opened the tool in the options tab I checked the box that adds the tool to my quick launch toolbar and right clicked it and created a desktop shortcut. I have opened the turn windows features on or off window and the Tablet PC Optional Components box is checked (meaning turn on) which is where the snipping tool is located. My question is a searching question (Issue). While reading how to use this tool I was instructed to open it either by opening the start menu and typing "snipping tool" in the seach window or start, all programs, accesories, and click snipping tool. I get no results using either method. Search can't find it and it's simply not there under accesories or any of the sub folders. My question is WHY? I also had these same results for other searches and accesory items for example system restore. How do I fix this? Thanks for helping.

Re: Searching Issue

The Start Menu shortcut must have in some manner gotten deleted. You can re-create it as follows:
  1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, click on "New" then "Shortcut"
  2. In the Type the location box, enter this (without quotes): "%SystemRoot%\system32\SnippingTool.exe"
  3. Click Next
  4. If you don't like the default name for the shortcut, type one now
  5. Click Finish
If you want the shortcut in your Start Menu, then right-click the Start Orb and select "Explore" before following the above steps.

If you want the shortcut in your Quick Launch Bar (QLB), right-click the QLB, then select Open Folder before following the above steps.
