Solved Aero makes some programs fuzzy

I have a problem with Aero, where some of the programs I run (iTunes for example) will be fuzzy! If I disable Aero, it goes back to crystal clear.

I have an NVidia 9800GT and 6GB of ram.

I would not have even known there was a problem had I not downloaded iTunes, since all of my other programs look great! I'm fairly new to this forum thing, so please let me know if there is any additional information that is needed.

This is probably just iTunes not scaling well with the DPI settings of Aero:
  1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, then select "Personalization"
  2. In the left-hand pane, click "Adjust font size (DPI) (you will need to respond to a UAC prompt)
  3. Make sure that the setting is on "Default", unless you for some reason require the setting to be on "Larger" (120 DPI)

It very well could be. I don't want to start any Apple vs. Microsoft debates, so I'll highlight it from another perspective.

Someone only has to look at the design layout of iTunes from a programmer's point of view. There is not a single "Common Control" or "Standard Control" in use. Everything from the progress bars, to the lists to the labels is provided by code within iTunes itself. Not a single visual control is a subclass of any common windows control.

Buy using such a vast amount of custom-written components, it's a bleeding miracle that iTunes even runs on Vista at all as well as it does.

Chances are, the Apple guys are figuring if something goes wrong, they can take Microsoft down a nocth or two by blaming the new OS....

*Update*

When I changed the DPI back to normal, I was able to switch back to Aero and iTunes was no longer fuzzy.... I guess you could label this post SOLVED!

Thanks for your help!

Glad to help, Shizy. And I can chalk this one up as just one more reason why I don't use iTunes, or anything else prefixed with an "i"
