PC:
4200+ AMD ATHLON 64 X2 processor
1 GB DDR2 memory
320 GB SATA HD
NVIDIA GEFORCE 6150SE nFORCE 430 graphic card
VISTA HOME PREMIUM installed

Problem:
Excessive memory and cpu use when loading ‘heavy’ internetsites like runescape, stardoll, etc (my children are experiencing most of the problem…). Event viewer indicates ‘excessive page swapping’ and I tried to extend the swap memory size manually, this did not help either. It does not matter which browser is in use (tries IEXPL en FIREFOX). JAVA runs with the latest edition.
No memory problems found with memory scan…
System is defragmented on a regular base
No malware found
Tried to start up without virusscan (sophos)
Problem started a couple of weeks ago, system run normal before

Memory use running heavy java appr 200MB
moz-screenshot.jpg

Memory use homepage only 2 MB

PC performance index 3.
MSINFO.exeinfo:
1G installed; 767 total phys mem; 116 available

I wonder why there is only 116 MB physical memory available
What causes the degradation: 1GB -> installed memory to 767MB total physical memory -> 116MB available memory? (and this is just after start up, no browsre loaded)

Number and 'weight' and weight of boot programs is very low

(unfortunately im not able to upload the screendumps here, happy to provide them via e-mail

thx for all help!!

Hello Rob Luttge, welcome to Vista forums!

As you can See Here 1GB of RAM is the bare minimum to run Vista Home Premium.
Then when the dedicated memory to run the integrated graphics is deducted Vista has less than 1GB of RAM to work with!

As mansrm81 has suggested adding at least another 1GB of RAM would be advisable.

Keep us informed!
