For users deciding to install Vista 64 bit

I found this useful option in gpedit.msc that disables 16bit software on your machine. If using 32bit & cant decide whether to use 64bit in fear of some software not working, then enabling this option is helpful for testing what software wont work.

type 'gpedit.msc' in start menu search box

navigate to 'local computer policy>computer configuration>administrative templates>windows components>application compatibility'

then on the right hand pane, open the 'Prevent access to 16-bit application' & set it to enabled. To re-enable, set to disabled.

Dont touch anything else, otherwise you wont be able to use the 'compatibility' options for your programs.
