What happens if you try to "Save"/"Save As" the file to your Documents folder or to your Desktop?
Thanks for the help. the file is stored on my hard drive a this location:
computer - local disk ( C: ) - Atemp - "file"
same place I have stored for years. If I take the file and transfer it to my external drive i can do anything I want with it. As soon as I put it back it becomes read only, is my hard drive screwed? Its a month old. I have been storing the file here since I got the drive, no problem until yesterday....
well I deleted it on c drive, cut and paste the contents from the e drive file into another file making sure I just copied the exact text and made new file, put it back in Atemp and it works? Must have been a corruption embedded in the file somehow. Thanks for your help...
