Hi Helene,
Your %user directory% is your user name on your computer. You need to enable showing of hidden files and directories on your computer to show it.
Anyways, you can also clean your hard drive following the instructions here;
Extended Disk Cleanup[11]=Performance%20Maintenance
You can also clean your SP1 backup files by following the directions here;
SP1 Disk Cleanup Tool[11]=Performance%20Maintenance
One last thing... change the size of the amount of space used by system restore by following the directions found here;
System Restore - disk space
That should free up some hard drive space for you.
