I only have 4 GB free space out of 70 GB.

I don't play games, and only instal programs like Microsoft Office, photo programs.

I did all that was recommanded like disk cleanup etc. etc.

I did search to see what is so much space and was not successfull.

Where should I look?

Is there any hidden space?

Thanks

70GB for Vista? It requires 40GB + RAM. I would uninstall what you can from Windows add/remove. How big is the winsxs directory? Have you deleted everything in the different temp directories.

C:\temp
C:\%user directory%\temp
C:\windows\temp

70GB is not that much space for Vista.

How big is the winsxs directory?
Where do I find this info?

Have you deleted everything in the different temp directories.

C:\temp

C:\%user directory%\temp
can't find this
C:\windows\temp

Thanks for the help so far. That is nice.

Hi Helene,

Your %user directory% is your user name on your computer. You need to enable showing of hidden files and directories on your computer to show it.

Anyways, you can also clean your hard drive following the instructions here; http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/158356-extended-disk-cleanup.html?filter[11]=Performance%20Maintenance

You can also clean your SP1 backup files by following the directions here; http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/142656-sp1-disk-cleanup-tool.html?filter[11]=Performance%20Maintenance

One last thing... change the size of the amount of space used by system restore by following the directions found here; http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html

That should free up some hard drive space for you.

Snarks
