Are you sure that error code is right? I can't find a single thing about it.

It sounds like an unsupported hardware issue. Did you add/remove any hardware while running Ubuntu?

Sorry i mistyped it. The Code is 0xc0000e9.
An unexpected I/O error has occurred.
And no I did not remove or add any hardware while running Ubuntu. Ubuntu is still running fine.

Alright, take a look at this thread and see if the solution posted there works for you.

Oh! It's a laptop. I didn't see that before, I'm not too sure that will work for a laptop.

As for whether or not it will void your warranty, that depends on the manufacturer.
I did a little research, and it turns out you may have already voided your warranty to them. Take a look at this story. It was clarified with an update here, however. Though they still claim if a problem was causing by switching the Operating System (ie- Not a hardware problem) they can claim your warranty is void.

Anyways, I'll do a little more poking around to try to find a solution to this, as I don't think opening up the laptop is a good idea at this point.

Just out of curioustity, how many times have you tried to install Vista on this laptop? And you've recieved the error everytime? Also, are you able to try another copy of Vista from anywhere just to see if it may a problem with the recovery discs? (Though that seems unlikely)

EDIT: I didn't mean to scare you with the voiding the warranty. I'm pretty sure once we have Vista up and running again your warranty will be uneffected. Just at the moment (as Vista won't install, and this is user-inflicted) your warranty probably would not be honored.
