Vista 64 bit freezing up

Ok so I have had my computer about 11 months and all of a sudden this morning it will freez up after it starts up and it just locks up. It wont even let me reformat because it will get around 17-33% and just freez up.. Cant move the mouse ect. The screen is still on and everything but I don't know what I need to do. I have done the following:

Stopped all startup programs
Moved the HDD to a different port on the Mobo ( I read that on a fourm).
Unplugged the memory and plugged it back in.

I just cant seem to find out what is wrong with it.. I don't think anything is overheated due to the 7 fans in it. I don't think anything is broken because I can do anything typical for a good 17-20 seconds after it boots... but after a few seconds it freezes.

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I have gone crazy for the past 2 days.

I had the same problem on Acer8920G 4GB, Vista 64 bit Home Prem

I resolved the problem by logging in as Administrator into Safe Mode, Command Prompt only

I then used DOS commands to stop WMI and delete the files in the repository

Commands were:

net stop winmgmt <enter>

wait for it to stop

Del c:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository\*.* <enter>

I Quickly turned off the PC, I didnt even bother to shut it down

The hanging problem went away, I then noticed iastor errors in the log which I fixed by downloading latest Intel drivers
