| Vista Ultimate 64-bit | Change Default Internet Explorer Shortcut Icon I have been trying to change the default shortcut icon for IE. I have one I would like to use that is not just a page with an e. I would like to click a webpage > create shortcut and my icon will be there. I went into HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and changed a bunch of the DefaultIcon to my icon path. C:\Windows\Ico\online.ico Some changed, but not not all. Some of the icons that did not change, I changed by hand and some go back to the default icon after I open the page. I would like to replace the top one with the bottom icon. Can anyone help me on this? |

| Vista Ultimate 64-bit | Re: Change Default Internet Explorer Shortcut Icon I think the Tutorials on this site are fantastic. I have gone through all 52 pages. It really does not have what I am looking for on a default ie icon. I fooled around with it and I have one about 75% of the time. About, 10% of the time, I screwed it up. I am going i7 next month and will do a new install. I will not regedit my ie icons again. |

| Vista Ultimate x86 | Re: Change Default Internet Explorer Shortcut Icon You need a little program called Resource Tuner. It reveals that iexplorer.exe has no less than 148 different icons. You use the program to open the EXE and replace the icons with your own. |
