| Vista Home Premium | AHCI & IDE or IDE Hi Just a general question. As my motherboard gives me the option of either ACHI & IDE or IDE for the onboard SATA chip I was wondering what is the best way to go. I have all SATA drives internally and an eSATA externally with the odd occasion of a USB external. Regards.... Colin |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: AHCI & IDE or IDE Hello Colin, Since you have SATA drives, it would be best to use the AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) option in the BIOS settings. This will allow you to be able use the SATA features such as Native Command Queuing on hard drives and hot plug. Hope this helps, Shawn |
