I am rendering a simulation and I would like to increase the CPU usage on a certain application to save time. Basically, I have been monitoring the CPU usage history in the Task Manager and noticed that the process doing the rendering never gets more than 50% of the cpu dedicated to it. Is there a way I can get 80-90% of the cpu dedicated to the process?
I'm running the Windows Vista Home Premium with the Intel Quad Core CPU
and if you happen to know anything about rendering the program i'm using is Autodesk Maya2008/ mental ray. Also i'm using the Command prompt to batch render so no other processes are running on my computer while it's rendering.
