I've just spent a fair amount of time getting Vista Ultimate x64 running quite well thank you very much, now MS is saying Windows 7 will be available late 2009 or early 2010.So after spending a decent amount of hard earned cash on Vista will there be an upgrade version for Vista users or will I have to purchase "7" and waste my Vista installations???.

As happens when anything new comes out you decide to buy it and replace what you already have or you don't.

I read an article the other day saying that PC's bought with Vista on will get an upgrade option, but this will only happen on new systems bought I think 6 months before launch (same as they did with XP & Vista).

im in the same boat, just got vista running perfectly, now windows 7 is being released. Ive decided to wait for windows 7 sp1 before upgrading so they can iron out any bugs & get some decent driver support for it.

You should try the beta, it works good. I think you have like two days left to DL it and get the keys, I would DL it just to have it in case you want to try it.
Welcome to Windows 7
