Does anyone know how I could partition a hard drive using diskpart before I install an OS for example WINDOWS XP ? What I'm trying to do is partition my 320gb HARD DRIVE into 3 parititions C:,D:,E: . Also have them labeled to . I read you could do this during the install of XP during the GUI setup.

In addition to Joan's post, you could use Disk Management in Vista to accomplish this. You would shrink your C: partition, by the size you want for the D and E partitions, to create the D partition. Next shrink the D partition, by the size you want for the E partition, to create the E partition.
Afterwards, you just select the partition you want to install the other OS on. However, when you have Vista installed first and then install a older OS (ex: XP), it most likely will mess up Vista boot MBR. You can easily fix this though by running Startup Repair on the Vista partition after you installed say XP.

I'm trying to install XP on a whole new hard drive and partition my hard drive before XP installs. I know there is a script to do that but I have no idea how to do that.
