I have a problem with microsoft office programs that will not open in the vista start menu???.When clicking on a program from the start menu, won't run. When clicking the
same program from the start menu -> program folder, it will run. What could
be? I am not using the classic menu. I have tried to re-pin them,but still they will not open??, all other programs are ok.. Can someone please help me.Thank You.

Hi Rip,

You could try going to C:\Program Files x86, opening the program folder and right click on the program.exe file, then select Pin to start menu.

I assume you have been pinning the shortcut in the start menu > program folder up till now ?

Thanks SIW2, but the Pin to start menu option is not available???.. can I copy it to desktop,then pin it??

Maybe the start menu is acting up.
Reset it and then once you start using your programs again they should repopulate and hopefully that clears your issue.

Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.
Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.
In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click Use Default Settings, and then click OK.

You have not, by chance, disabled all or some of the "Windows Search" service. That would create your problem.
