I purchased a PNY 3-pack 2GB USB 2.0 Drive. How often can you use it for Windows ReadyBoost. Once the 2GB are used up do I dispose of the USB Drive and use another or is it good, I guess, forever. It doesn't really matter because I bought them particularly for backup purposes, only to findout I needed a larger GB USB Drive. Anyhow, about the Windows ReadyBoost. Do I dispose after useage or dispose of it. Do I keep it plugged in until after my computer session. A lot of questions. Of note, I bought and installed an extra 2GB of memory. Leaves me with about 1.6GB's of available memory.

Hello Bughaters,

A USB flash drive behaves just like a hard drive. It will be good until it just wears out and fails. Vista treats the data on it like a cache file. When space runs out, it automatically deletes what it does not need anymore to make room for new data that it does need.

You can leave it plugged in if you like when you want to use it, or unplug it when you do not.

This tutorial may help answer some of your other questions you may have as well.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
