Why is has Vista Become SOOO Slow

I have a 4200 AMD Dual Core with 1 gig ram...Lately everything has been very slow. Even when I type letters there is a delay before they appear. It also takes a long time to open programs. I have run CC, virus programs, System Mechanic, deleted temp files etc.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to speed this up. It takes around 2 seconds before the letters appears after I type them.

You have the minimum memory requirement for Vista Home premium. If you are running a lot of memory intensive programs and windows aero graphics this may be your problem. Maybe you should think about getting some more memory. 32 bit can have up to 4gb of memory.:)
