| home | sticky key bug? My sticky keys is on, and there seems to be no Way to shut it off. Both my sticky keys are unchecked. I've looked at the tutorial and followed the directions completely. I'm conviced this is a bug. Is there something I can downloadthat can fix this? I really need help! It's impossible to type. I've hit shift five times, but it remains on. |

If you go to the control panel and then "Ease of Access" you should be able to control all the options under the "make my keyboard easier to use" option It is possible to have sticky keys on but the five shift key option off Hope this helps |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: sticky key bug? Hi, As this is not something I've seen before I assume it is not a common problem Has this always happened or suddenly started? If it has only started to happen recently you could try a system restore ... System Restore - How to - Vista Forums If this is a long running problem you could try a system File check to repair any damaged system files ... System Files - SFC Command - Vista Forums If you try either of those methods, as appropriate, and it is not solved please post back and will try to suggest further options... Hope this helps |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: sticky key bug? Ok before we take such drastic action a few more things to try ![]() As sticky keys is as far as I know related to your login, you could create another admin account and log off and back on as the new user, see if that changes the operation of the keyboard. is this a laptop or a desktop? If it's a desktop it may be worth trying a different keyboard, if you access to one that can be borrowed for testing. If it's a laptop you may want to check that the manufacturer hasn't bundled any software that performs the same function as windows. |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: sticky key bug? Hi the easiest way is to select the help and support item on the start menu and type in "user account" into the search bar (without quotes) and press enter This will bring up a list of help topics item 5 should be "create a user account" this should guide you through what you need. you may also want to read through some of the other items on the list which may help you to understand user accounts - not required reading but could be useful in future |

| home | Re: sticky key bug? I created another account and it seemed to be working just fine. After a few moments though, sticky keys came back on again. It seems that sticky keys is never on at the start, but after a while it randomly turns on. So it's not working. |
