I have an updated Vista x64 Sp1 install (english, OEM), and have noticed for a long time that several of the processes in my task manager have no description. I cannot help wondering if this is normal or not.
The following processes have no description in my task manager.
csrss.exe
pen_tablet.exe (wacom bamboo black)
Ati2evxx.exe (looks like some Ati process)
wisptis.exe
winlogon.exe
Why are there no descriptions? This leaves me with a bad impression of Vista.
It's normal decoman. Normal windows processes. ATI has to do with ATI graphics card. You can use a program like process explorer to maybe see some more info but probably not on a lot. Or you can look at services, start menu-control panel-administrative tools-services to look at some processes but I wouldn't mess with any windows processes unless you are absolutely sure about it as a danger or something.
Run a malware scan if you're worried about it. Process Explorer
As airbot says, I wouldn't be to worried. The descriptions in the task manager depends on whoever writes the code including them, Microsoft are normally pretty good with this but 3rd party code writers often don't include the information.
You can google the process name if you are unsure of it's function as this will usually provide some information
