What Player and Name Drive are you using? Might provide more specific details that might help some of the experts here to assist you.

Re: blueray player problems

Did you install dvd/blu-ray playback software? Only Ultimate has the out of the box dvd video codecs (but not HD codecs for blu-ray).

I have a blu-ray DL BD-RE optical drive, and I also use PowerDVD 8 Ultra ($74)
Buy CyberLink PowerDVD - DVD and Blu-Ray Disc Player Software - High Definition Movie Playback & Home Theater Audio

Re: blueray player problems

Check default programs and make sure powerdvd is default for both dvd/blu-ray. If you cannot open the following programs you may need to reinstall Cyberlink software suite.

LG GGC-H20L Super Multi Blue Blu-ray Disc & HD DVD-ROM - Software Bundle

CyberLink PowerDVD 7 Ultra
The version of PowerDVD bundled with the GGC-H20L only supports 2 speaker output. If you want to take advantage of movies encoded with Dolby Digital or DTS, you'll need to buy the retail version of PowerDVD Ultra.
Download software update (build 4407) for your player here:http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/downl...112_en_US.html

Re: blueray player problems

This will tell you if there are any problem issues with your computer That could be preventing playback- including the drive itself. If you are all in the "Green", consider upgrading your software.
Cyberlink BD Advisor

Note- Make sure you are running Vista SP1 as otherwise Vista will probably see your BD Drive as a DVD Drive. And you might want to think about upgrading your PowerDVD Ultra to a retail/download version. I have heard many people say they had problems with Blu-ray playback using the OEM version- and patches are far and inbetween.

yes ive all ready made sure that it can run in my machine by the bd advisor

as for the software that comes with it ive tryed that on my dads computer and it works fine

and yes it is runing sp1

ive spoken to my local computer shop and they have had a look at the machine and they have had problems with asrock motherboards and they are 99.9% sure it is the mother board

iam going to swap the mother board for another make and see what happens
