Problem with Vista 64bit

I've got a problem with my new Vista 64bit.

I've just installed 64bit after adding another gig of ram. The problem I'm finding is that it's much slower than my 32 bit system. Is this because of it having to open the 32bit programs? Or is there another way to go about it? My biggest thing I've noticed is that opening Firefox is slow as well as surfing. Other programs are slightly slower than my previous OS. I play World of Warcraft (Dun dun dun!) and I've noticed my latency jumping by about 400.

Speakeasy.net/speedtest is showing me with 18MB Down and when it tries to connect for the upload, it stops.

Speedtest.net has me at 40MS with the same down and about 8MB up, but when the test is done, it doesn't stop, but slowly dies. If that makes any sense. It just keeps going but slowly makes its way down to 0KB.

My net has trouble more than my programs. I'm interested in overclocking it to hopefully make the programs run faster, but want to get the kinks worked out before creating more.

I would really appreciate any advice in here. I've also gone over all Brink's guides on speeding up my computer and it helped a bit, but still find that opening programs is laggy and my net is just as bad as before.

I've also run into the problem now of my vista not booting in normal mode. It gets to where all the programs load and freezes. Any suggestions? =(

I usually find the first week of a new Vista install is generally a bit slow and laggy, but I found this was to do with Vista caching and indexing everything. After a week or so, it certainly picks up and runs fine.

Yes after Vista gets done Indexing things will speed way up. You can tirn this feature off but I wouldn't suggest doing that. I didn't notice my computer running slow at first but I'm running a Intel core 2 quad with 8 Gig of ram so my computer runs very very fast even with indexing.
