I think my NET.framework is corrupt, it is part of the OS can I repair it.
Have you tried removing it from Control Panel>Add / remove programs and then reinstalling it?
"Have you tried removing it from Control Panel>Add / remove programs and then reinstalling it?"
I can't because it is part of the operating system, I have 2 factory reset discs but I can't find a file or repair option.
My mistake. I was thinking of .NET Framework 3.5 which can be removed.
Have a look here and see if it helps:
How to repair an existing installation of the .NET Framework
Thanks smarteyball... I have seen this but when I click start, I don't get a run option. I am a bit of a numpty.
To get the run command hit WIN+R to bring up the run dialogue box.
To add the Run option to the start menu (for future use):
Right-Click on the Start menu>select properties > select Start Menu Tab > select customize > then scroll down and tick the Run Command box.
Hope it helps![]()
Cheers smarteyeball, run command sorted, the net framework file isn't on my factory reset discs, quite what I'll do now I don't know. Thanks for your help.
Hi SRF, just download the appropriate .NET Framework and try that links instructions again. Just make sure you point it to where the framework resides.
1.1
Download details: .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package
2.0
Download details: .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
Fingers crossed it works. Failing that, try installing 3.5 and see if that helps.
Still struggling smarteyeball. Iam trying to run this
G:\ dotnetfx.exe:\dotnetframework\dotnetfx.exe /t:c:\temp /c:"msiexec.exe /i c:\temp\netfx.msi REINSTALL=ALL ReinstallMODE=vomus"
I have saved dotnetfx.exe to a disc on drive G:\ I have tried various pematations and locations including direct from download file. I am really grateful for your help and patience
Did you check to see if you had a C:\temp folder? There should be one, but if not, create one.
Try this method:
create a directory on C:\ as C:\dot and copy the dotnetfx.exe file to that folder
On the Start menu type cmd into the search field and when cmd.exe appears, right-click and select run as administrator.
Type cd\dot to access the C:\dot folder.
Then try the command again: (copy and paste)
dotnetfx.exe /t:c:\temp /c:"msiexec.exe /i c:\temp\netfx.msi REINSTALL=ALL ReinstallMODE=vomus
What version did you download?
What errors are you getting?
