You can get a USB 2 hub for the one port. They are all enabled? What is in you device manager? Does your motherboard fully support your OS? Do you need a BIOS or chipset patch?

It sounds like either your USB ports have no power, or are disabled. Try opening Device manager (right click on Computer, then click properites. Then click on the hardware tab, and click Device Manager) and look at Universal Serial Bus ports. See how many are there, and look to see if some are disabled or say something else.

Try opening Device manager (right click on Computer, then click properites. Then click on the hardware tab, and click Device Manager) .

Much quicker and easier method of getting to Device Manager; click on the Start orb and type dev in the search box, then just select Device Manager from the list. ;)

Could this be why my Logitech Premium Notebook headset does not work out of the usb? I went to where you suggest and there are 5 Intel controller hubs listed, 5 root hubs and one composite device (I have no idea what any of this means). But this would not explain why my headset jack is not working..... (another post)....

I have checked my BIOS and everything is enabled there also. Any help please. How do I need to use all 3 of USB ports:(
Please.

*searches through his device manager*

Ok.... Apparently I have 19 USB ports.... Thats not right.

Yeah. So.
@Denise: Make sure that all the ports are enabled (just all of them) And possibly update your drivers.

I have run into problems with USB myself, make sure that it is not connected to a USB extender, and is plugged directly into the computer. That may help (I know it does for an iPod)

Denise, how are your ports set up? Are they one the motherboard or is it another card with extra slots? Or is it the USB ports on the front of the computer?
This can affect whether it works or not.

If it is plugged into the front ports, then put it into one of the back ports, and just move it around. Let me know how it works out.

My USB ports used to work originally when I bought my computer with vista home premium 32. Then i Bought Vista Ultimate 64. After I installed vista 64 i havent checked if my USB ports work, I mean I havent used all 3 of them, maximum 1 at the time. But couple of days ago I tryed to connect my mouse and keybord at the same time and found out that only one out of 3 USB ports works. In the device manager everything is switched on. Bios seems to be fine too i doubled checked, so what is the problem I winder:( One Usb works fine<>second doesnt recognise any of the devices what so ever, but I know that they work, cause they do in the first USB port<> and the fird USB port just simply dead, no sound of connection, nothing:(
I need to use my mouse and keybord for my work, but I can only use one or the other:(

Please help.

Denise, I was looking at my USB ports in device manager and I noticed that on the power tab there is a check on "Allow computer to turn this device off to save power" Maybe the computer is turning it off?

Quite possibly.
Another possibility is that the hardware came loose, which isnt likely i admit, but worth a check.

Try right clicking on any of the USB ports and click update driver. Do this for all of them. Also, you could go and try to update your BIOS.
