How do I restore the files in my all programs?

I was going thorough my all programs in the start menu when I noticed that I had a folder called programs among my other files. So I proceeded it to delete it and without checking, entirely my fault, I emptied my recycle bin. I wanted to know if there was a way for me to restore all my files that used to be under the all programs list. I have already restored the windows defaults, but I can't restore my installed program shortcuts and all the other things that were under that list. I tried a system restore but it wasn't able to perform the system restore. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do?

Hi Garmr,

you can right click on your taskbar and go to properties-start menu-customize and see if there's anything in there that might return the link but I don't think so. You can try a file recovery program, there are many free ones out there but here's one many people here use in this list called Recuva.

You mean when you click START > All Programs There is no list of programs?

Can you see them by double clicking Computer, double click Local disk [C:] and double click Program files. If you can, I think they are still in there except I do not know how to put them back in All Programs List.

If not, your Back up and Recovery Manager should be able to re-iinstall all of them. Just make sure you stay out of SYTEM RECOVERY. You want Program (NOT system) recovery.
