| Vista Home Basic 32-bit | clean install vista in safemode Help, no end of troubles w/laptop, hoping that a clean re-install may fix problems. Can only use laptop in safemode, but then cannot get in to recognize disk when installed |

Do you mean that when you start in safe mode, you cant get the disk to start? If nothing else works, you always have the ability to completely wipe your hard drive. I know a program that starts from BIOS, so your OS does not interfere. This will completely clean your drive, then you just reinstall Windows. This is a last resort tactic however. |
