| Vista Home Premium x64 | Vista x64: Can I install ffdshow (x64) or do I need "Vista Codec Components" too? I've just installed Vista x64 and I'm a little confused on how to get ffdshow working (64bit version). If I just install clsid's latest ffdshow x64 then it doesn't work. Even if I switch media player to 64-bit (eg. unregmp2.exe /SwapTo: 64, or something) then it still doesn't work. Do I need to install this thing called "Vista x64 Codec Components" (or whatever it's called?). Really I want is ffdshow (64-bit) to work... Also, does the Haali Media Splitter work? It doesn't seem to work at all in Vista x64. Thanks for any help! |

| Windows 7 x64 build 7100 & Ubuntu 9.04 | Re: Vista x64: Can I install ffdshow (x64) or do I need "Vista Codec Components" too? Well, a Codec is something that you install to use a certain type of video file, such as a codec is needed to play DVD's on your computer. I would try installing it, and see if it works then. Haali seems to be a virus from what i know about it. Stay away from that... |

| Vista Ultimate 64 bit | Re: Vista x64: Can I install ffdshow (x64) or do I need "Vista Codec Components" too? Hi sofakng, welcome to the board. Sorry I can't give you an absolute answer but here is an excellent link with great instructions. I don't think it will hurt to give it a try. Hope this will help. |
