now computer crashes programing birdog

i have a birdog sat meter for my buisness i have programed many time on this computer and their has never been a problem but today when i tried to add some new sats my computer crashed again blue screen this now makes #3 first cd's and then usb sticks larger ones 4g now the birdog all of witch used to run fine i'm wondering if it because of some update my vista 32 has done because they used to work and i have not added any new hardware. this is what the report to microsoft said

any ideas i have gotten the cd's strightened out someone told me i needed sp2 bata fro vista if so does anyone know where i can download it

i found out why my memorex 4 g travel drive keeps faulting out my computer and it's that U3 systems arent compatable with vista.
however can somone help my figure out why i can reprogran my birdog satillite meter v3.0 usb.connection with one of my computers (my older one ) but it wont run on my newer computer they both run on vista 32 home basic every time i try it faults out to blue screen and the info it post to micrsoft is listed above. ive even run a com port checking program and it say all is well i could post the program if you want and see if someone has somthing better

Hi beiniam,

I have not heard of this device, so I am not sure what it is or what it is for. However, as regards your problem you state that it works on one machine but not the other. I can see from your earlier posts that it works on the older machine, but not the newer one. Also, from your first post, I infer that this machine has SP1 installed. Does your older machine have SP1 installed? If not, then I suspect that this is where the problem lies. You will need to go to the manufacturer's website for the device you are using and see if they have any updates to enable it to be SP1 compliant.

i checked and found out that both my computers have the sp1 download plus they said at horizon (maker of the birdog) that the drivers are sp1 compatible and in the divice manager it saysdriver provider is ftdi and the version is 2.2.4.0 (digital signer ) microsoft windows compatalility publisher.
i even downloaded a program called usb viwer and it gives you a view of what port everything attatched to your computer is on and i set thouse numbers to match excatally where i have it hooke up i can connect the sat meter and it shows however as soon as i try to download files to the meter if faults out i hope this helps
