No "delete" option in Recycle Bin Menu

Hi everyone,

Weirdest thing...I noticed recently that when I right-click on my recycle bin, there is no "delete". I didn't make any changes that I am aware of..I have researched online and can't find anything at all...

Any ideas?

Empty bin option is grayed out when it is empty. Put something in there and it will show up

It's not even in the drop down menu...not even when I have something in there...the other post did not help either..it deleted what was in the bin but did not give me the option to empty the bin in the right-click menu...

Hello md88pilot,

See if running a sfc /scannow command can find and fix any bad system files that may be causing this. If not, the you can try a System Restore with a restore point dated before this happened.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for the help, but none of this has worked. I did the scannnow, went through the cbs.log file, and the only corrupt files it couldn't replace was for a windows movie sample....I doubt that has anything to do with my recycle bin...

This is an amazing forum! Thanks for all the links...at the least I am learning stuff! Good thing I recalled how to change directories when I was doing that for windows '95 I think it was..lol

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!

You might do a System Restore using a restore point dated before this happened to try and fix it.
