disk Cleanup Does Not Start

Hello!

i Have Vista Ultimate 32Bit, and i cant get Disk Cleanup to start.. i get to the options "My Files Only" and "Files From All Users on This Computer" no mather who i choose, a box is flashing for a tiny second, and nothing happens.

have tried to make a new Admin Account, tried cleanmgr, turned off and on UAC, i have searched the web for two days without finding any answers.. i have ccleaner, but i want Disk Cleanup to work! :)

in safemode i get a error message saying Memory could not be read

i installed vista yesterday, and when the install was fresh, disk cleanup actually worked, but not after i had updated the vista. i have also re-installed vista, same thing happend both times..

tried safemode again, and i got Cleanmgr.exe Application Error, 0x00fe34ef memory could not be read or something like that

i can get Disk Cleanup to work on my other harddrives, but not my vista disk

Did you ever run SFC and Checkdisk right after your install to see if anything came up? You may have to, to see if it was the updates that screwed things up. I would run checkdisk and do a memtest. If all else fails, try startup repair from your installation disk. It's possible your memory might be bad or the wrong type. Did it come with the computer or did you install it?
