Shortcut for switching accts?

Because of an ongoing problem (SQL error prevents my posting to Thunderbird Forums) with one of my regular Vista accts, I ahve to use another acct to post to TB. Therefore, I have to switch back and forth between the two accts whenever I access TB forums. So, is there any shortcut that I can use instead of having to go to Start>switch accts, logoff, etc menu?

Damn, you guys think of everything...and it's a good thing, too. Now, let's see if I've got his right. When I 2X click the the shortcut, it locks the presently opened acct, and I get the switch acct box to select. Then I can select the new acct I want to open. Also, I guess I should put the shortcut on my other accts to go back and forth in similar manners. Right?

Hi flycaster,

You need to place the shortcut on the desktop of each account. Alternatively, place the shortcut on the Public Desktop. This folder is normally hidden - see the following Tutorial for details on how to make it visible (and invisible again, should you wish): http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/86163-hidden-files-folders.html
Follow the instructions in my previous post and create the shortcut in this folder.

Dwarf, does placing stuff in the public folder and desktop, allow it to automatically show up in similar places on the other accts? Haven't done it, but from your suggestion I would think so.

And for CNY, you'are not referring to toggling bewteen accts, are you?

Hi flycaster,

Items placed in the Public Folders, and shortcuts placed on the Public Desktop are accessible to ALL users on the computer. If you wish items and shortcuts to only be available to SOME users, then you need to use their accounts to place them in their User Folders and User Desktop.

I have removed CNY's entry in this thread.

No. (sorry) But I do not use the other account (administrator) unless I am up to major tweakings. I surf in standard account; that way, if I happen to come across a bad site, hijacker or malware would not inherit administrator priviledges.

It's much easier to have all often visited sites (all kinds of FORUMS) signed up in with one account (standard)and be able to toggle between all of them in one screen without having to toggle between accounts.

Agreed, CNY, but only one of my forums is not accessible for posting/replying (Thunderbird, my email client), thus the need to switch accts to get to it. I jsut got word from a TB monitor that they dsort of know about this problem, but are to busy at the moment to try to fix it...ugh!
