I recently bought a new PC with Vista. I'm having a problem trying to customise my folder icons with pictures. I go throught the easy steps but nothing changes. I'm not a technical expert. Can anyone advise what the problem may be . I'll happily provide other information, if required. Thank you.

I've done what was required ( - properties - customise - choose file - click - open - apply - OK) but the icon (happens to be the camera icon) remains in place. The folders are on a Maxtor external hard drive (NTFS) but a similar test on the PC hard drive didn't produce the desired result either.

Thanks for further reply. I used a WD external hard drive (FAT) with XP and it worked fine. I think I'll live without the icon facility. I appreciate the help.
