| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Stacked windows stay on stacked size After stacking multiple windows, they stay stacked sized even when no longer stacked, even after I close and re-open. The only way widows return to pre-stack size is after reboot or switch user. Is this the way it is?.... or something is wrong? Correction: Actually windows stay stacked size even after reboot. The only way I get to pre-stacked size is to manually resize one window and then minimize it or shut it out. Then the next window I open is the same size as last window I resized and minimized or shut out. Again, is this it? Aren't they supposed to return to pre-stack size automatically? |

| Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Beta, Vista Ultimate x86 | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size Now you got me. I find if I resize a window, subsequent stacked windows will remain that size. Each instance of explorer remains the same until I physically resize a window again Is this what you are saying? Norm |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size Hi Norm, There is an option to undo side to side and stack but the size does not go back to pre-stack or pre-side to side size when undone. They stay reduced. Newly opened windows are shown already sized for stacking and side to side showing. Meanwhile, the reduced windows from stacking or shown side to side stay reduced. I have to re-size one of them and then close to make newly opened window the desired size. I thought, normally, all windows should go back to pre-stacking (or side to side) size when undone. Or I am not using these options properly? Pssst...I'm getting a headache reading my own post. |

| Windows Vista Home Premium 32BIT | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size How are you shutting off you're computer? I had this same issue and I honestly noticed that if I closed out each window before shutting down using the start menu power off button, than when I booted up again in a later time it was the way it was when I shut down. These posts are confusing to read, haha. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size But what if you do not want to lose any of the windows and want to see each in normal size (before they got stacked), how do you return them to pre-stacking size without closing or rebooting? I still think they should return to original size when no longer stacked, automatically. I always shut down thru start button. My power button is programmed to hibernate and closing lid is to sleep. |

I still think they should return to original size when no longer stacked, automatically. There is no need without closing or rebooting; I meant if you're noticing you're orders or whatever not loading properly it is most likely due to an improper shut-down. When you say stack, do you mean how when you first open a program or window, the default size it loads in, whether it is full screen or just a quarter of the screen? |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size When you right click taskbar, there are options to cascade, stack, side by side , minimize all windows. Ok...open multiple windows then have them shown stacked or side to side. See what happens when you un-do the stack or side to side option (btw, there is also an option to undo) Last edited by coolnewyorker; 12-29-2008 at 02:30 AM.. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Stacked windows stay on stacked size Thanks, Stephen...it worked like magic. I am cured. And I was right...normally windows should return to original size when stacking or side to side showing is undone...unless system is corrupt. Last edited by coolnewyorker; 12-29-2008 at 03:22 AM.. |
