Vista Home Premium Edition x64, take a look.

Hello everyone, I am using a Vista Home Premium Edition x64. I have wireless internet on it from my grandmas router in her room. Here's the problem though...,
I am a real dedicated gamer. I play America's Army v2.4.0
so im real picky about lag. Sometimes I can just turn
my computer on, and load up America's Army.. It will run
very fine for hours and hours. Then again, I can turn on the
computer and load it up, and everything will be going real slow.
Even when I let everything have time to load. Maybe there is some kind of system performance tool I could use? Or maybe it's just my wireless connection. And if it was that, is there anything I could check to find out if it is really my connection?

Or maybe you are simply overloaded. Unload! Use Disk Cleanup...then defragg.

Yeah, told myself that everyday, coolnewyorker. But it just doesn't help... :\
I'm about to post a new thread in General discussion asking for
help on restoring Vista to factory settings without the
Backup Disk, unless I can get a answer here?

Open your Recovery Manager and try some repair first or some driver and softwares re-installation before resorting to system rec installation (which will lose docs).

Have back up DVD's for your files and docs if you decide to go str8 to sytem rec install.

BTW, if you have not created system rec DVD's, that means you can still create them (you are allowed only one time...make sure you follow instructions to the letter) if you happen to have HP Pavilion or Presario. I am not sure about other brands .

Re: Vista Home Premium Edition x64, take a look.

The fact that it works well sometimes and not other times indicates more than likely a connection issue - not you, but from the router to the ISP and beyond.

At different times of the day, connections are going to be acting differently - for instance, for me it is night right now, and my internet peaks during these times - but early evening it is awful, as most of the neighborhood is using the same Cable service as I am - during the day it is hit and miss, usually depending upon how the overall big picture is looking in terms of the Internet - all the businesses and universities and such have massive amounts of traffic going, and ISPs and the Internet in general gets flooded.

I'd look into those first, as your symptoms don't indicate any real major degradation of performance from your machine, otherwise it would just be getting worse and worse without any real good periods interspersed in there.
