Issues booting off certain CD's/DVD's

Not sure if this is the right thread but here goes:
Im having a strange issue where Im trying to boot off 2 particular cd's.
The first is Hirens Boot CD, tried Ver 9.5 and 9.6, it gets to Hirens menu asking where to boot from, then flashing cursor and nothing.
The 2nd is Norton Ghost 2003, starts up fine, asks which drivers to load, choose CD-Rom, says cannot start CD drivers, no device present, yet its booting off the thing.
Mobo is Asus P5Q3 Deluxe.

Any ideas would be most appreciated, need to get my system backed up before i reload, and want it done urgently, thanks!
