Hey, I have a problem and I called Microsoft about it to no real avail. I've been having this problem from the first day I got it(feb08..my laptop)My task bar after being on for a few hours, will make items transparent when I click on it.

Like say I click on say documents from the start menu, it will show up(if it shows up) with just the outline of it, with the middle of it just white...And I cant click on anything in there as well.

Also, it also shuffles the programs I previously had on the task bar...
like say I had Firefox and lets say Explorer and a few other programs, it's like playing musical chairs or the guessing game, you never know which one you'll have.

On top of that, in the little right corner the time disappears. It will even mess up my browser or what ever I'm using.

I usually just restart my computer but now I tired of doing that, that is why I join this forum...for help..Can someone help me?

  1. Open an Administrative Command Prompt (Press <WINDOWS_KEY>, type "CMD" without quotes, in the search results, right-click CMD then select "Run as Administrator")
  2. In the command window, type "SFC /SCANNOW" without quotes then press <ENTER>
Have you also run a full virus/malware scan?

Which is why I suggested you use the <WINDOWS_KEY> to open the start menu. It should allow you access without using the mouse.

  1. Open an Administrative Command Prompt (Press <WINDOWS_KEY>, type "CMD" without quotes, in the search results, right-click CMD then select "Run as Administrator")
  2. In the command window, type "SFC /SCANNOW" without quotes then press <ENTER>
Let me know what the results are?

I've tried that but, nothing reall changed. Not too long ago, I upgraded from a basic to home

Have you tried this also:
  1. Right-click an unused part of the taskbar, then click to unlock "Lock the taskbar"
  2. Move the quick-launch area around, if possible
  3. Move the taskbar to another side of the screen, then back again

I'm gonna restart and try it..For some reason, im thinking it has something to do with the graphic card, because any program I use will become distorted and wierd lookin. I once called MS and they sorta had me change some sort of thing involving the graphics card. I worked for awhile but I had upgraded to premium and it came back...I have a windows sp update..Im gonna select that an see if it works
