I was wondering if, since my notebook PC has an HDMI port on it, it is possible to run my Xbox 360 into it and use it as a TV. I start college this week and don't really want to purchase a TV. I am told that there is some sort of TV tuner software that I can download and play my xbox through Media Center, but I am not sure. I am a Computer dunce, and would greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can offer on the subject. Thanks,
Zack

The TV Tuner software will not work without some form of TV Tuner Hardware to accompany it.

What you could do is purchase a USB-based TV Tuner that is Vista Media Center certified, and you could then tune it to your XBox 360.

The HDMI port is output only.

Dzomlija hit the answer right on the nose, if you do want to use a monitor as an xbox 360 display, theres 2 ways you can approach it, either way, it involves you buying something, 1st one is to get a monitor with a HDMI input and built in speakers, which is much easier than option 2 but more expensive, 2nd is to buy a standard monitor with speakers and buy an Xbox 360 HD VGA cable, which is what i use and my games play perfectly. heres my monitor playing Gears of war and GTA4 on xbox 360 :)
