Vista - Acer Aspire laptop CRCdisk error

Hi All, I have an Acer Aspire laptop with windows vista home basic. About a week ago it just stopped working. it gets to the windows load page where the bars keeps moving to let you know it is loading and thats all i get. It will not go past this point at all. I have tried to load it in safe mode and it stops at windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys I have used the acer recovery software that came with the computer to no avail. The recovery disk load and go all the way thru to the point where you remove the cd's and reboot the system. and you guessed it the same thing happens. I reinstalled windows and you guessed it the same thing happens. I have no idea what to do or where to go from here. Please if anyone has any ideas or has a similar problem please post. It's a bit hard to state positively what your problem might be, but it looks like it is hardware, probably the Hard Drive. Your options are limited. My recommendation would be to take it to a repair centre. Is it stll under warranty?

I bought it from Walmart and got their two year extended warrenty. So it should still be covered. I just tahought after reading a few posts that maybe it was something simple that i was missing. I will have to take it back to them and let them send it out and see what comes of it I guess. Thank you for posting and comfirming what I thought my next step should be.
