Hi
Sorry to trouble you.
I have the Dell's Vista Express Upgrade DVD disk.
It works ok.
However I wish to do another clean install of the os.
When I choose the "custom [advanced] install" and format the partition works ok.
But when I try at this juncture to slip stream selecting the "Load Driver" my USB with the intel chipset & Intel's MSM drivers on my USB connected to the computer fails to show up!! Why?
Mine is a Dell computer with P965 chipset.
Thanking you.

Try finishing the installation first, then go in and install the drivers. Thats what i usually do, and it works fine. It could be that by that time vista has not gotten the USB working, so will not sense it. I dont know for sure though.

Yes,I have done it as you've said and it works. That is how I did it last time round.

However, this time round I wish for this slip-streaming of the Chipset & IMSM drivers. My attempt to slip stream through USB or a CD has not shown the drivers. However when I am at the point where "Load Drivers" it does show the USB & CD!! as available but fail to show the available drivers there!!
[I have two DVD Reader & DVD +/-RW]

Then try putting the drivers on another DVD or CD and put it in your second drive and select from there. Obviously it is not reading from the USB port, so try that.

Unless you actually create a DVD with the drivers slip-streamed in, the only drivers that you can load during the installation procedure are for the storage sub-system if this is not recognised by the included drivers on the Vista disk. All other drivers need to be installed after Vista has fully installed. If using an upgrade version of Vista, you will only need the storage driver for the 1st install, but you should wait until after the 2nd upgrade install before you install the other drivers.
