Vista hard drive icon

Hey, I just restored my PC from Acronis and the Hard drive icon is not the default.



The OS drive is the internal default disk. I just need the default image for it so i can change it through the registry, or instructions to change it to default.

Yes, but I do not have the default image for the drive therefore I can not change the icon.

Download the icon from somewhere, and put it in the file with the other drive icons, and then go select it.

That's the problem, I have no idea where too i have been researching for hours.

Hello Vista_32bit,

In the big TIP box at the middle of the tutorial, it tells you the location of the default C: drive icon as: C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll,30. You can use this in either METHOD ONE or METHOD TWO in that tutorial.
