| | Start-up problems I'm not sure where this belongs, please move it if it belongs somewhere else. ------ When I turn on my computer after it has been off for some time, strange stuff happens. It starts with the speaker icon and the network icon not showing up in the system tray. Then Winamp remote can't get a connection to the internet, and Steam won't launch although the process is visible in task manager. When I right click something, and then click something from the pop-up menu, the selection won't disappear and stays on the screen. When I point at a icon in objectdock, and then move the cursor away from the dock, the icon still is being "selected". Everything is slow, and I can't open a webpage. It's a bit hard to explain, I have a pic below. Funny thing is, everything is completely fine after 1-2 reboots, or even after a logoff. I have no idea what is causing it. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Pic that demonstrates some of the problems. (No volume and network icon in the taskbar, dock icons keep selected, pop-up menu choises don't disappear) click I also thought a HJT log could help, but sadly it's not possible to run a scan when the problems occur because it takes forever to open a folder. I can post a log when everything's working fine though, so if you need it just ask. It's not a big problem, but it's very annoying because it happens on a cold boot almost every time. Any help is appreciated. |
